A small vacant north Salina building was destroyed by a fire overnight.
The Salina Fire Department tells KSAL News that crews responded to the report of a structure fire at around 11:30 Friday night. A small building at the corner of East Pacific and North Second Street was fully engulfed in flames when the first firefights arrived.
The building, which among other things used to be the location of Willie’s Bar-B-Q restaurant and also a liquor store, was currently being used for storage. It is a total loss. A cement truck parked in front of it was also destroyed.
According to the department, this is the second fire at this building within about the last month. Additionally, a fire on July 4th damaged a structure across the street, the former Flaming Motel building.
There were no injuries in any of the incidents.
Investigators are working to determine a cause.
