A Kansas lawmaker is entering the race for governor.

State Senator Dennis Pyle announced yesterday that he will run for governor as an independent.

Pyle has chosen Kathleen Garrison of Haysville as his running mate for Lieutenant Governor.

Pyle needs to gather five-thousand signatures from qualified voters by August 1st in order to file by petition.
