Dorothy A. Kohls, 99, of Salina, Kan., passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022. She was born in Pawnee, Okla., to Stuart and Beulah (Buford) Lucas on June 18, 1922.
In 1940, she married Alfred A. Kohls, and they shared 61 years of marriage together and had 4 children.
She was a farmer’s wife and helper for 25 years in Chase County, then resided in Marion County for 25 years before moving to Salina in 1990 for her husband’s dialysis treatments.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred A. Kohls; son, Roger W. Kohls Sr.; brothers, Ronald, Lyle, and Clifford Lucas; sisters, Wanda Feldhut, Betty Crank, and Shirley Burkholder; and son-in-law, Dennis Maddox.
She is survived by her children, A.W. Kohls (formerly of Salina) and Sonja Maddox, both of rural Chase County, and Barbara Reyer, of Rose Hill; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren, which spanned 5 generations in her lifetime.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina. Inurnment will be in Elk Cemetery, Chase County, Kan.
