Arrest Made after Pot, Stolen Gun Found

A traffic stop on I-135 leads to the drug related arrest of a Salina woman early Friday morning.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, a deputy pulled over a vehicle with a broken tail light just after midnight near the Assaria exit.

The officer noticed the abundant odor of marijuana in the 2010 Hyundai Elantra as he talked with the driver, 21-year-old Tanisha Wilbourn. A search of the vehicle revealed a jar full of pot, plus a 9mm Kel-Tec handgun that had been reported stolen last year in Salina.

Wilbourn was taken into custody and could face charges that could include possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, plus possession of a stolen firearm.
