A man accused of firing a gun at another man in the Salina Lowe’s parking lot has been taken into custody.
Police arrested 22-year-old Justice J. Kennedy on Wednesday.
Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that an officer on patrol spotted Kennedy sitting on the front porch of a home in the 600 block of S. Santa Fe and recognized him from briefings on the investigation.
Police had been looking for him since August 4th, when witnesses told officers he fired multiple shots at a car driven by 21-year-old Kwentin Gunter.
The two had exchanged words before Kennedy allegedly pulled a handgun and fired – striking the passenger side of the vehicle.
Captain Sweeney added that Kennedy was taken into custody without incident but the gun has not been recovered.
Kennedy is now facing charges that include assault, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.
No one was injured during the incident in the parking lot at Lowe’s Home Improvement, 3035 S.9th
