A Salina man was taken into custody for battering a woman after he tried to outrun police on his motor scooter.

According to Sergeant Jim Feldman, officers on foot caught 22-year-old Dario Lopez on Sunday evening around 11:45pm after a woman made a call for help.

Police say the 20-year-old female called 911 after Lopez allegedly broke out a window in her home in the 600 block of Huehl and tried to get in.

Officers had been to the same address on December 11th – when the victim told police then how Lopez had hit her and tried to strangle her during an argument between the two acquaintances.

Lopez is now facing multiple charges that could include aggravated battery, criminal threat, aggravated burglary and criminal trespass.
