An early morning call to police prompts the arrest of two Salina men.
According to Captain Mike Sweeney, officers were sent to the 700 block of N. 5th Street just before 1:30am Tuesday, after a woman saw someone driving away in her 2000 Subaru.
Patricia Harrington told officers that the thief also smashed a window on her 1995 Chevy pickup that was parked in front of her home.
A short time later, an officer on patrol spotted the car in the 700 block of S. 2nd Street and arrested 20-year-old Justin Howard on charges of theft and criminal damage to property.
Passenger, Brandon Carpenter, 18 was arrested on drug related charges after officers found a marijuana pipe and drug paraphernalia in his backpack.
Police say the Subaru, which is valued at $3,000 was not damaged and that the owner had left the keys in the vehicle.
