Bethany Students Help Train Officers

Bethany College Criminal Justice students recently completed assisting Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy Class# 58 with their studies.

According to the school, during the fall 2018 trooper academy, Bethany students assisted by providing role players to make the troopers’ training more realistic.

The Bethany students helped with many scenarios, including:

  • Robbery victim
  • Intoxicated driver
  • Complainant of damage to state property
  • Driver in a car crash

Having the role players made the training more realistic for the trooper cadets, and gave the students insight into the job of a highway patrol officer.  The training took places at locations in and around Salina Highway Patrol Training Academy.

Bethany College offers students an excellent opportunity to earn a degree in an engaging, interactive learning environment

Trooper Class #58 began 23 weeks of training at the academy in Salina back on July 11th with 34 recruits. From that class, 24 recruits persevered and graduated on December 13th.
