A bridge over the Kansas River is being closed due to safety concerns.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced the emergency closure of the eastbound lanes of I-70 at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct.

Inspectors say that the viaduct is expected to be closed through the end of the year so crews can make needed repairs.
