A bug is blamed for causing a crash on Interstate 70.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Ford Fiesta was headed east on Interstate 70 Saturday afternoon.
The driver, 16-year-old Jeremy Baggs fron Dacula, Georgia, was distracted by a bug. He veered off the road into the south ditch and struck the 196 milemarker sign. The car came to rest facing northeast.
Baggs and a passenger, 21-year-old Chelsea Bell from Kelso, Washington, were both transported to the hospital in Russell. Troopers say that both were buckled up.
The crash happened Saturday afternoon 11 miles east of Russell on Interstate 70.
