A Salina woman was arrested after allegedly being caught in the act trying to break into a home.

Police say  that Cheryl Pittenger, 37, was attempting to break into a home on the 400 block of Phillips with a credit card when the owner pulled up and saw her. She attempted to run, but law enforcement was alerted and she was located a short time alter.

The victim and Pittenger were acquainted.

Pittenger could face charges that include attempted burglary.
