A one vehicle crash late Friday evening left a car on its top in the front yard of a home in Central Salina.
Salina Police told KSAL News at the scene that speed played a factor. According to Master Patrol Officer Rande Repp, a small passenger car was headed south on Oakdale Drive at a high rate of speed. The driver was swerving back and forth, and lost control of the car.
The car jumped a curb, and flipped onto its top. It ended up partially on a sidewalk and partially in the yard in front of a home at 315 Oakdale Drive.
Repp says the driver, 16-year-old Elijah Cairo, was not hurt. A passenger in the car was also not hurt.
Repp adds that Cairo will be cited for reckless driving.
The crash happened at around 8:45 Friday evening.
