A vehicle that was washed away in a flash flood last week is found in four feet of standing water.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 2008 Chevy Malibu is probably a total loss after being carried away by rushing water sometime late Wednesday into Thursday morning.
Owner, Emily Hensley of Salina told deputies she was on her way to visit a friends home on F. Creek Road that night and got stuck in the mud in the driveway a short distance from the house.
In the morning – the car was gone.
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that a deputy reached the vehicle on horseback, the location is not accessible by vehicle. Deputies say the car probably rolled several times and came to rest about 3/4 of a mile from the house.
Total loss is listed at $14,900.
