Child Pornography Charges

A Salina man is booked into jail following a Wichita Police internet crime unit’s investigation that has linked him to child pornography.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that officers used a search warrant to enter a home at 562 Upper Mill Heights on Tuesday morning at 10am and arrested 53-year-old Michael N. Rodenbeek.

Captain Sweeney says the investigation began in August when the Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) unit in Wichita discovered that Rodenbeek was allegedly downloading pornographic files of children onto his computer.

Captain Sweeney says SPD and Homeland Security was also involved in the investigation.

Police seized a computer from his home and are requesting charges that include sexual exploitation of a child.
