A child was injured after being shot in a hunting accident in McPherson County.

Authorities say the incident took place near Roxbury on Saturday afternoon when a hunter thought he had shot at a turkey. The turkey was a decoy.

A seven-year-old boy was shot the head. The child was taken to a Wichita hospital for treatment.
