A Minneapolis, Kan. man was sent to the hospital in Salina after a one-car crash in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol tells KSAL News that Joseph A. Huiett, 18, Minneapolis, KS, was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango north-bound on Interstate-135 in Saline County on Tuesday.
Huiett veered his Durango out of the way when an unknown animal ran out in front of him, causing his vehicle to veer off to the right shoulder and strike the guard rail along the highway. The vehicle then veered back across the driving lane and came to a stop on the left inside shoulder of the roadway.
Huiett sustained a minor injury and was sent to Salina Regional Health Center.
The crash occurred at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at milepost 94 on I-135 or about a mile-in-a-half south of Interstate 70.
