A fire damaged a combine as it was harvesting wheat Thursday afternoon in rural Saline County.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, during the noon hour on Thursday a 1979 International 1480 combine harvesting in a field in the 1800 Block of W. Rosehill Rd caught fire. The fire started in the engine, where leaking oil ignited.

A small area of stubble and wheat also burned.

Firefighters from Marquette extinguished the fire. There were no injuries.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
