A cow that had walked through an electrified wire on a stubble field caused a non-injury car accident on Monday evening.
Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander tells KSAL News that Glen Deines, 67 of Smolan was driving his four-door sedan westbound on W. Water Well Road Monday evening just before 6pm when a black cow entered the roadway.
Deines struck the animal in his 2012 Ford Focus near Airport Road causing heavy damage to the vehicle.
Authorities say the car was towed from the scene and is listed as a total loss.
The cow’s owner, Michael Wimer came and removed the animal which had to be euthanized. .
