Crews are searching Kanopolis Lake in central Kansas for a teenager who went missing while kayaking with friends.

Ellsworth County Sheriff Tracy Ploutz says three friends were camping at the lake when they decided to kayak between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Ploutz says wind might have caused one of the kayaks to tip. When the other boys went to assist, their kayaks also tipped over.

Two of the three boys were able to make it back to shore.
