Two men are killed when a car they are in is hit by a semi on a Riley County Highway.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 90-year-old Frederick Danenberg was driving a small passenger car. He stopped at a stop sign, and then pulled out onto U.S. Highway 24. He drove out in front of a semi on the highway, and was hit.
Danenberg and a passenger, 85-year-old Michael Myers, were both killed in the crash. Both men are from Manhattan. Troopers say that neither was buckled up.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The. crash happened at 3:55 Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 24 Highway, or Tuttle Creek Boulevard a mile east of Seth Child Road in Manhattan.
