A major electricity provider is expanding in Kansas.

Evergy announced yesterday that it plans to construct two natural gas power plants in the state. The two plants will cost two-billion dollars, and they will be built in Reno and Sumner counties.

The Sumner County plant will open in 2029, while the Reno County plant is scheduled to come online in 2030.
