A woman’s uninvited ex-boyfriend is now in jail after allegedly stealing her purse with over $1,500 in cash in it.

Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva tells KSAL News that 29-year-old Jeremy Eilrich was arrested Thursday evening at the Ecno Lodge in Salina.

Police say around 4:30pm Thursday, Eilrich knocked on the 30-year-old woman’s door in 500 block of S. 12th and walked in. Before she realized who had entered he had left the residence with her purse and the cash inside. Several texts she sent him – asking to bring the money back went unanswered.

Eilrich is now facing charges that could include aggravated burglary and theft.

Police recovered about $1,000 of the stolen funds.
