A weekend fire damaged a piece of heavy equipment in rural Saline County.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, a loader caught fire at 3784 W Waterwell Road.

Joel Wimer was burning a pile around 4:39pm when the front end of his loader caught fire.

Fire District 2 was able to contain the fire, which damaged  the hydraulics on the machinery.

No one was hurt.
