One person is dead following grass fires in central Kansas.

As of Sunday, the Cottonwood Complex fires in Reno County had burned at least 12-thousand acres of land and damaged multiple homes and other structures.

Crews were monitoring hot spots yesterday and making detailed damage assessments.
