A runway improvement project is underway at Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita.

Construction began yesterday on the airport’s west runway. Crews will spend the next year-and-a-half repairing the pavement, updating runway markings and replacing the electrical system.

The 21-million-dollar project is being funded mostly by FAA grants.
