The death of a Kansas prison inmate is under investigation.

Forty-nine-year-old Scott Wood was found unresponsive in his cell at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility on Friday and was pronounced dead at a hospital that afternoon.

Wood had been serving a 50-month sentence for drug possession and aggravated escape out of Sedgwick County.
