The death of a Kansas prison inmate is under investigation.

Forty-year-old Brooks Vonthaer died after being found unresponsive in his cell at the El Dorado Correctional Facility yesterday afternoon.

He was serving a 62-month sentence for aggravated assault, criminal trespass, theft and criminal damage in Shawnee County.
