A man who escaped while being taken into custody at the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office in Minneapolis Tuesday morning was caught later in the afternoon.
Officers were looking for a man who fled while being booked for a pair of outstanding Saline County warrants.
Troopers from the Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the search.
The man was caught at around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Authorities were searching in Ottawa County Tuesday for a prisoner who fled from the jail in Minneapolis.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, officers were looking for a white male reportedly wearing a white shirt and orange or red shorts. He possibly had a bandage on one hand.
He had been originally booking into Ottawa County jail for two warrants out of Saline County before fleeing.
KHP dispatch was contacted at around 11:30 in the morning requesting assistance.
By 1:30 the man still was not caught, but troopers returned to normal duty as Ottawa County continued the search.
