The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential burglary in Gypsum.
According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, a couple who lives in the 100 block of W. 5th Street, returned home from a vacation on April 29th and discovered some of their property was missing.
Deputies say there was no sign of forced entry but report that two diamond rings that were kept in a jewelry box in the master bedroom were taken.
The owner described the rings as white gold, one with a 3/4 karat diamond the other with a 5/8 karat diamond.
Thieves also left with $2,500 in cash that was kept in a jar in the kitchen.
Someone also took about $20 in prescription drugs from the home.
Total loss is listed at $7,020.
