Kansas’ new congressional map is dealt a setback.

A Wyandotte County judge has struck down the map and ruled that it violates the rights of residents in Wyandotte County and Lawrence by reducing the influence of Black voting blocs in order to serve partisan ambitions.

KWCH reports that the map splits Wyandotte County between two congressional districts and puts Lawrence in the largely conservative and rural First Congressional District.
