Kansas Lawmakers to Talk Arming Teachers

Kansas lawmakers will consider a plan to arm teachers.

“The Safety Act” would make it easier for Kansas teachers to carry concealed guns if they undergo increased training, State Representative Blake Carpenter of Wichita, who co-sponsored the bill, says teachers wanting to carry concealed firearms would be required to pass the same firearms test taken by police officers.

The Kansas House of Representatives is expected to start discussing the legislation today.
