Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is not looking far to find the state’s next lieutenant governor.

Kelly announced Monday she intends to appoint Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Toland as lieutenant governor. Toland will replace current Lieutenant Governor Lynn Rogers, who was appointed as Kansas State Treasurer last week.

Current Kansas State Treasurer Jake LaTurner was elected to Congress last month.
