A meeting that aims to increase crop production in northwest Kansas and the central High Plains is planned for later this month in Kansas.

Dubbed the “Cover Your Acres” conference, the event is hosted by Kansas State Research and Extension and the Northwest Kansas Crop Residue Alliance. It is set for Jan. 20 and 21 at the Gateway Center in Oberlin, with the same program offered both days.

The meeting focuses on the latest technology, methods and conservation practices to improve crop production in the region. Topics this year include drought-tolerant corn, cover crops, the Ogallala Aquifer, the new farm bill and crop insurance.

It typically draws more than 600 attendees from Kansas and other states.
