A Salina man was arrested following a short high speed pursuit Sunday morning.

Police say that an officer attempted a routine traffic stop on Crawford Street at around 3:00 in the morning. Rather than stop, the driver sped off., reaching speeds of 75 miles per hour. Police alled of the chase.

About a half hour later police found the vehicle in the 600 block of South 5th Street. Officers ended up arresting 39-year-old Jon Helm.

Helm could face charges that include reckless driving, disorderly conduct, and driving under the influence.
