Police arrest a Salina man who was sought in connection to assaulting a female acquaintance in an east Salina home.

Officers arrested 36-year-old Brian W. Luebbert on Friday after  he allegedly strangled a woman and threatened to kill her during a domestic dispute last week.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the woman who is in her 30’s ran to a neighbors home for help after Luebbert left.

Police say he punched and kicked the woman, tried to strangle her and at one point forced her into a bathroom and threatened to kill her.

The woman was treated at the hospital for bruises and scratches.
