A man died after he fell from a moving car in rural Ellis County on Saturday, according to a release from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened just after 1 a.m. near 210th Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road–just southwest of Hays.

20-year-old Jordan Schreurs was reportedly riding in a car near the intersection when he fell out.

Schreurs was first rushed to Hays Medical Center, and then airlifted to KU Medical Center in Kansas City with head injuries.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
