Authorities say a 30-year-old man has drowned at Perry Lake in northeast Kansas.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man as Jeremy Welch, of Bonner Springs. He jumped into the lake Saturday night and didn’t resurface.
Sheriff Jeff Herrig says the drowning happened at Party Cove, which is a popular spot for boaters to gather on the lake. Four divers searched for 30 to 40 minutes before locating Welch’s body.
Herrig says the drowning is under investigation.
