A man is headed to prison for leaving his baby in the I-135 canal in Wichita.

Thirty-five-year-old Vincent Perez was sentenced yesterday to 54 months in prison for aggravated child endangerment and aggravated battery.

Perez was accused of leaving his child in the canal near Harry and Hydraulic in July 2024. The baby was rescued and taken into protective custody.
