McPherson County law enforcement is warning about a scam.
According to McPherson County Sheriff’s Office, recently they have been made aware of individuals calling people pretending to be a captain, deputy or employee with the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office. Once someone answers their phone, they are told they have a federal arrest warrant for missing jury duty or a grand jury duty and they request payments to be made to resolve the warrant.
This is a scam. The agency will never solicit you to resolve a warrant via a payment. Do not send them money, and do not give out any information.
If you are ever suspicious that something could possibly be a scam, you are urged contact your local law enforcement before ever providing any information.
