Multiple Vehicle Burglaries Highlighted

Between December 24, 2018 and December 26, 2018, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous vehicle burglaries. A majority of the incidents occurred in the 3000 block of E. Water Well Road, the 3000 block of S. Holmes Road, 3000-5000 blocks of E. North Street, and several other locations around Simpson Rd/Country Club Rd. There were also at least two incidents in the City of New Cambria.

Unknown suspect(s) entered numerous vehicles and stole anything of value, including bags, purses, wallets, sunglasses, electronics and speakers, clothing, loose cash, and change. On several occasions, the suspect(s) broke into attached residential garages to get into vehicles. In one of the incidents in the 5000 block of E. North Street, a Glock handgun was stolen.

Total loss is estimated to be well over $2000.

Several vehicles had been left unlocked. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to always lock their vehicles. Whether the vehicles are parked outside or inside a garage, please take precautionary measures.
