Saturday was a good day for the Salina Central High School Mustang Boys Tennis team. After qualifying every team member Friday to play on Saturday and earn a state medal, the team brought home the gold. The young tennis team won its 12th state championship.
The boys doubles teams were key. Reed McHenry and Max Shaffer faced off against teammates Brady Stack and McCabe Green in the semifinals. McHenry and Max Shaffer advanced to the finals, where they finished second.

Singles: 7th Collin Phelps; 11th Austin Beatty.
The Mustang State Championship Team includes five sophomores and a freshman.
