The Kansas Department of Corrections is suspending in-person visitation. Officials say in-person visitation will be suspended at all juvenile and adult correctional facilities starting on January 14th. The decision was made due to staffing issues related to COVID-19. Three people are dead following a shooting in Larned. Police responded to a home on Saturday night after a passerby found 44-year-old Shala M. Smith, 12-year-old Carver A. Smith and 44-year-old Jon B. Smith dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting is under investigation.
