The Centers for Disease Control says they’ve yet to identify the cause of a bird flu infection in Missouri.

Last week, the CDC disclosed a patient had been hospitalized with the bird flu, despite not having any contact with farm work or infected animals. On Thursday, officials said the patient has since recovered, but they haven’t found the cause of their infection.

They believe the patient was hospitalized not because of the bird flu, but because of their underlying medical conditions.
