Adetha Lorraine “De” Wiltse

Adetha Lorraine “De” Wiltse, age 94, of Concordia, Kansas, left this earthly life on Friday, June 28, 2019 at her residence in Concordia. She was born on Jan. 15, 1925 in Concordia, Kansas to Charles and Valeria (Kindel) Lawson.

She was a 1942 graduate of Concordia High School.

De married Calvin Wiltse on January 28, 1951 in Concordia, Kansas. To this union was born two daughters, Lea Ann and Jan.

De worked for Kansas Power and Light for 10 years and then worked in the Cloud County Treasurer office as a Clerk and Deputy Treasurer for 26 years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school, Moose Lodge #1428, VFW Post #588, American Legion Post #76 women’s Auxiliary.

She served as a camp fire girls leader and helped on the Absentee Election Board.

De loved her family and loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, quilting, sewing, reading, playing cards, and loved word puzzles.

De is survived by her two daughters, Lea Ann Weilbacher, Leavenworth, KS.; Jan Bergstrom, Concordia, KS.; Granddaughters, Dea Novak (Mark), Haddam, KS.; Danielle Haskett (Lancio), Concordia, KS.; Amanda Weilbacher, Olathe, KS.; Grandsons, Erik Bergstrom and Tabatha Newbert, Manhattan, KS.; Matthew Weilbacher (Jenna), Bellevue, NE.; Michael Weilbacher (Hillary), Fairbanks, AK.; 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Valeria, 2 brothers, Valta and Todd Lawson, 1 sister, Anna Lucille Lawson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 1 – 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Jason Van Pelt officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
