Adolph Charbonneau, age 87, left this earthly life surrounded by his family at his home in rural Concordia, KS. He was born on May 31, 1933 in rural Cloud County, KS to Fremont Adolph & Barbara Agatha (Mentgen) Charbonneau.
He graduated from Concordia Catholic High School in 1952. He served in the US Army during the Korean war. He married Elizabeth “Beth” Cole Nelson on May 5, 1979 and became a family with her children, Jeffrey & Julie Nelson. He owned and operated C & C Truck Line for over 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a lifetime member of American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588, Moose Lodge #1428 and the ELKS Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Beth, Concordia; son, Jeff Nelson (Nicole), Concordia; daughter, Julie Crowley (James), Tonganoxie; grandchildren, MaKayla Nelson (Tanner Gilbert), Olivia Nelson (Erik Scott) & Kaitlyn Nelson & Emilie & Alex Crowley; godchildren, Sean Wallace, Catherine Hutton, Shannon Heath & their families; brothers, Vincent (Edna), Marshall, Gene (Virginia), Irvin (Nola) all of Concordia and Bill (Delores), Beloit; sisters, Louise Summers & Joan Pentico (Derry), Concordia; brother in law, Craig Cole (Rosanne); nieces, nephews, friends including a host of fellow truck drivers and C & C customers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother in law, Gary Summers & sisters in law, Virginia A. & Mary Charbonneau.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Mon., Dec. 21, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery with Military honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm with a Rosary service at 6 pm on Sun., Dec. 20, 2020 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia and the family greeting friends following the rosary.
