Adolph “Duff” Gerard Laska was called home Thursday, June 2nd, 2022. He was born December 31st, 1960, in Omaha, Nebraska to Adolph J. and Lucille L. Laska. Duff graduated from Stockton High School in 1979, continuing his education at Dodge City Junior College on a track scholarship.
He previously worked at OCCK, serving at the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, a Marshall of Tipton, KS, Sheriff’s Deputy in Mitchell County, as well as a local commercial and residential electrician. Duff also worked for the city of Salina as a groundskeeper before retiring. Duff loved fishing, watching Nebraska Huskers football, motorcycles, building model airplanes, gardening and his animals, but being a grandfather gave him the greatest joy.
Duff married the love of his life Ada M. Browning of Mankato, Minnesota on March 21st, 1987, in Greeley, Colorado. They were blessed with six children and thirteen grandchildren. Duff leaves behind his wife of thirty-five years, Ada Laska, his sons: Seth Laska (Jamie), Valen Laska (Hannah), and Shaw Laska (Chloe) of Salina KS, his daughters: Cameron Laska of Topeka, KS, Mariah Bieker of Brookville, KS, and Shea Orth (Curtis) of Minneapolis, KS, his seven grandsons and five granddaughters. His sisters Connie Kriley, Cindy Murphy (Stan), Virgi Laska, Michelle Laska, Lucy Beilman, brother-in-law Gary Scott, and numerous nieces and nephews. Duff was preceded in death by his daughter Kyra, parents Adolph and Lucille Laska, his sister Katy Scott, and brother-in-law Eldon Kriley.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 6th, 2022, at Ryan Mortuary from 5:00-8:00 p.m., with vigil at 6 p.m. Mass will be held Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. His family will have a private burial.
