Anna Lorene Currie, age 90, died March 11, 2023 at Salina, Kansas.
Mrs. Currie was born on December 1, 1932 in rural Saline County to Robert and Almeda Isaacson and was a homemaker in the Gypsum, Kansas area her entire life. Following graduation from Gypsum High School with the Class of 1950, she was united in marriage to George J. Currie on October 8, 1950 in Assaria, Kansas. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a former member of the Kipp Presbyterian Church, serving as church organist for several decades. She later became a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the Chancel Choir. She also volunteered at the Salina Regional Health Center and participated in a ladies select singing group in Salina.
She was preceded in death by her husband George J. Currie, one great granddaughter, four brothers, Joyal, Melvin, Loren, and Delmar (Harvey), and one sister, Hazel. She is survived by two sons, Mike and wife Nikki of Gypsum, Kansas, Curt of Brenham, Texas, one daughter, Julie Hollis of Houston, Texas, eight grandchildren, Thayne (Mengshu) Currie; Taylor (Kelly) Currie; Brooke Currie Dinkel; Anna Hollis (Luke) Kingham; Jason Hollis; Sara Hollis; Sara Currie; Marley Torrez; and seven great grandchildren.
The Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on March 18, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, Kansas with viewing from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina, Kansas immediately following the service.
