Bob Cook, 97, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 10th, 2022.
Bob was born in St. Francis, Kansas on November 8, 1924, a son of Arthur Robert Cook and Irene (Carlson) Cook Weis.
He worked in soil conservation, road construction, and owned and operated Cook Mobile Home Service.
Bob served during WWII in the United States Army as a paratrooper from 1944 – 1946.
On May 25, 1950, Bob married Beverly M. Shores in Goodland, Kansas.
Bob and his daughter, Cathy were avid world travelers, specifically to Costa Rica, Europe, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States. He loved to visit his nieces and nephews and friends at the Salina VFW and American Legion Posts.
Bob looked forward to family get-togethers, holidays, cook-outs, and other events.
He was also blessed to be able to take the Kansas Honor Flight #12, April 30-May 2, 2014 and the Dream Flight on August 26, 2021.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Boll, (Joe Miller) of Salina, Kansas; granddog, River; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Fred Weis; grandparents, John and Izzy Carlson; wife, Beverly; son, Dale Cook; sisters, Jeannette Baxley, and Ruby Morton.
Cremation has been chosen.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 19th at Carlson – Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory in Salina, Kansas.
Memorial service will take place in Goodland, Kansas at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the American Legion or VFW, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas 67401.
