Barry James Little, 56, electrician and local business owner, passed away on Saturday October 28th, 2023.
Barry was born on October 27th, 1967, in Emporia, KS to Donald Parker “Huck” Little and Sherry Marie Stroda Little. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1986. Barry met the love of his life, Janell Curl in Garden City, KS and the two married on June 4th, 1988. Barry enlisted with the Air Force and was stationed in Dayton, OH where he learned to become an electrician. Once Barry’s service with the Air Force ended, he and Janell picked a place on the map between their two hometowns to move to and ended up selecting Salina, KS to raise their family. Barry worked as an electrician for a local company and eventually started his own company L&S Electric.
Barry enjoyed getting the family together at his house to try out new bar-b-que recipes and to watch the Chiefs game in fall or swim in his pool in the summer. He was an avid golfer who was always one swing tweak away from perfecting his golf game. Barry was a fantastic grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren very much.
Barry is survived by his wife, Janell; sons, Ryan Wells (Jessica) & Alex Little (Casey); daughter, Nicole George (David); grandchildren, Eli Schmidt, Grayson Little, Lucas Wells, Tianna Blevins, Addison Spencer, Averie Little, River George; brother,s Colby Little (Christi) & Tyrone Little (Elaine); brother-in-law, Jim Curl; sisters-in-law Carolyn Rupp (Jack) & Lori Curl and many, many friends.
There will be a visitation where the family will receive friends at the Ryan Mortuary on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5 until 8:00 pm. A service to celebrate Barry’s life will be at 12:00 pm noon on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Ryan Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Salina Food Bank.
