Becky Joy Just Rageth, passed away on March 21, 2023, surrounded by family at KU Medical Center after a difficult battle with cancer. A lifetime resident of Salina, Becky was born on Sept 11, 1953 to Ardis (Bevan) and Louis “Buster” Just. Becky attended Salina High School and was part of the first graduating class of Salina South in 1971. She worked in book-keeping for many years before opening her own business, The Emporium, in 1998.
Becky Joy was a “joy” to all who knew and loved her. She had a kind, loving heart and a giving, generous nature. She loved making quilts and pillowcases for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling for business and family vacations with her grandsons. A country music fan, she saw many of her favorite musicians in concert. She also enjoyed watching KU basketball games, win or lose! Her love of family was the source of her happiness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis “Buster” Just; dad, Arlen Darrel Sutton; and granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Rageth.
She is survived by her children: Bryan (Lucinda) Rageth and Sara Rageth; her grandsons: Dylon, Auston, Brannon and Chayton Rageth; and her mother, Ardis Sutton – all of Salina, KS.
She is also survived by her siblings: April (Denny) Boyer, Littleton, CO; Cheri Smock, Salina; Dena (Ray) Starnes, Aurora, CO; and Jeff Sutton, Salina; her stepmother, Jeannette Just, Longmont, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She will be forever loved and missed by all.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Ryan Mortuary.
